Speaker Bio:With over thirty years of experience leading people, programs, or projects under the umbrella of all things Human Resources, Sue specializes in helping colleagues succeed. She blends her background of public and private sector experience to direct, plan, and orchestrate Human Resource functions often in resource challenged environments. She most enjoys building capability in people to develop sustainable results.
Sue’s diverse background spans industries including tourism, event planning, transportation, traffic incident management, teaching, and manufacturing. She thrives in fast-paced environments requiring decisiveness for action to achieve goals and protect the organization she represents. Her approach blends practical career insights with a foundation in business, positive partnering, and effective leadership. This allows her to guide individuals and teams towards functional supervision, interpersonal dynamics, and necessary workplace HR compliance.
After earning a degree in Business Tourism Management from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island, Sue began her career in the public sector overseeing five sites as a regional supervisor, where she gained early lessons in the power of teamwork, accountability, and delivering results. Her interest in labor relations led her to earn a Master of Human Resource Management from the Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University in Cincinnati, Ohio, which further laid a foundation for solving people problems in organizations.
